Coffee or Tea?

I'm not a coffee drinker. I was in middle school. (Go figure.) Back then it was just another way for me to bond with my father. I actually resisted having tea with my breakfast, which is a Jamaican staple. Now, some days I can drink 4 or 5 cups of tea.

So where do we go when we don't want to work from home, and he's in the mood for coffee and I want hot tea (or an almond milk vanilla chai latte if I'm feeling fancy)?

In general, Danny + I are not fans of big chains. Do we go? Sometimes. But we like to seek out mom and pop cafes and locally owned spots too! In Atlanta, there is no shortage of hidden gems.

What a joy to come across this quaint coffee shop and bakery not too far from our apartment!

The coffee was on a bar cart, they had freshly baked goodies, and the vintage lighting was entrancing.

Their assortment of organic teas was more than enough to make me happy.

Danny + I spent the good part of a day working from here. We had the place mostly to ourselves.

As I spent most of this day focused on writing, it really felt like my own private writer's retreat. A far cry from the hustle and bustle of big chain coffee shops. They have their place too. But this was a welcomed change.
